Here is a perfect opportunity for the students for a unique experience that gives tremendous opportunities to a deeper look into the fast improving medical field of India.  The range of setups vary from primitive primary health centers in rural areas to the ones that are no different from the highly equipped ones of the Western World and you can have a first hand idea of the functioning of them all during your stay with us.  Undoubtedly, it would be a unique experience where you come across some Indian influences mixed in the medical system.  India having a rich heritage in areas of traditional or natural medicines, like Siddha, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Holistic healing, etc. 

You can inform us beforehand of your interest, practically, in any field of medicine, be it pediatrics, surgery, organ transplants, cosmetic surgical procedures, urology, gynecology or any other. Placements can be tailored, wherever possible, to suit each volunteer's level of relevant experience and interests, and to a preferred size and type of hospital or clinic. It would be an excellent experience of the realities of medicine in a fast developing country.

The Special Cost of the Program until September 2009, would be 1750 USD per person.

The Course includes the following:

Four weeks classes at AVNH, Palayamkottai, Tamilnadu,
directed by Dr. Francis Roy

Accommodation on Bed and Breakfast basis at Palayamkottai, Tamilnadu
2 weekend trips. You can choose from any two of the suggested program below. Twin bedded accommodation with Breakfast and transfers by train shall be provided
Arrival and departure transfers from / to Airports in Tamilnadu or Kerala.
A motor scooter and a Bike (Bicycle) will be provided at the place of Internship ( Gas and minor repairs should be paid by the students )

Access to computer with Broadband connection will be provided at the place of the Course.

Chennai or Trivandrum International Airport. On arrival our representative will meet and do the needful for transfers and accommodation.

Orientation classes by Dr. Francis Roy

Medical Intern program starts

Afternoon Board train to Madurai . On arrival check in Hotel Sangam or Royal Park

Saturday
After Breakfast, half day guided city tour of Madurai (Meenakshi temple and Nayak Palace.) by taxi and a Rickshaw Tour of Old Madurai.
Afternoon free for own activities

Sunday
After breakfast, guided tour of Alagarkoil by TaxiAfternoon check out and leave Madurai by Train to Palayamkottai.

Afternoon board train to Trivandrum Check-in Hotel Udaya Samudra - Kovalam

After Breakfast, half day city sight seeing of Trivandrum. Afternoon free for own activities
